1A - P1A Kindergarten/1st

P1 is a 2 year program where Kindergarten and 1st grade students work together in one classroom. Our students stay with the same teacher for two years.  They learn to work cooperatively and become classroom leaders.

Math Matters Day
Friday, October 30th will be our first Math Matters day this year.  During math matters day the children travel with their class to all 4 P1A classrooms for a 30 minute math or science activity .  The children will be exploring the concepts of sink or float, graphing, shape identification, and probability.
Math Matters day will be a Pirate theme. Children may dress up as a Pirate for school on Friday.  Please no weapons!

Parent Volunteers
We welcome parents to volunteer in our classrooms.  There are many ways you can help: Read to a child, cut out supplies, filing papers, putting up bulletin boards, assisting with crafts or classroom activities, montioring learning centers and more.  Your child's teacher will let you know when help is needed.

Snack
Your child will have about 10 minutes each day to eat a healthy snack.  Please be sure to send in a healthy snacks that are easy to open.  Snacks should be limited to one healthy food item and a drink.  Milk and orange juice will also be available to purchase. Some snack ideas are cheesesticks, goldfish, fresh fruit (cut into pieces if your child has loose teeth), yogurt, pretzels, cereal.  We do ask that you do not send in glass and try to limit items with peanuts due to food allergies.
