100th Day of School!

On Friday, March 5th, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school! We are planning a special snack for this special day. It is called a “friendship gorp”. We would like each child to bring in 100 pieces of a tiny snack. Please do not send in any items that contain any kind of nuts or nut products due to food allergies.

The friendship part comes in when we mix all of the ingredients together and share the “gorp” for our snack. Please send in the snack in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it by Friday, March 5th, which is the 100th day of school.

You may choose from any of the following or provide something that will mix well with the batch: Cheese Puffs, Raisins, Marshmallows, M&Ms, Skittles, Popcorn, Chocolate Chips, Goldfish, Pretzels, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, or any other small snack. (Please remember: no nuts!!!)

P1A Reading Service Project!

March is National March Into Literacy Month! This month celebrates the love of reading among children and promotes awareness of literacy as a fundamental skill for success.

In honor of this special month, the reading homework for March 1st through 12th will be a part of our service project for the year, which is a reading campaign. We are challenging our students to see how many minutes they can read during the next 2 weeks. Each night your child should record the books he/she has read and the number of minutes, including time spent reading on the weekend!

We are asking each child to set a goal for number of minutes to read and to collect donations from friends and family.
