P1A Announcements ![]() Dr. Seuss's Birthday Celebration!In order to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday, which falls on March 2, Hartwood Elementary will have a fun-filled week of Dr. Seuss theme days.
![]() 100th Day of School!On Friday, March 5th, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school! We are planning a special snack for this special day. It is called a “friendship gorp”. We would like each child to bring in 100 pieces of a tiny snack. Please do not send in any items that contain any kind of nuts or nut products due to food allergies. The friendship part comes in when we mix all of the ingredients together and share the “gorp” for our snack. Please send in the snack in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it by Friday, March 5th, which is the 100th day of school. You may choose from any of the following or provide something that will mix well with the batch: Cheese Puffs, Raisins, Marshmallows, M&Ms, Skittles, Popcorn, Chocolate Chips, Goldfish, Pretzels, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, or any other small snack. (Please remember: no nuts!!!) ![]() P1A Reading Service Project!March is National March Into Literacy Month! This month celebrates the love of reading among children and promotes awareness of literacy as a fundamental skill for success. We are asking each child to set a goal for number of minutes to read and to collect donations from friends and family. For further information go to: ![]() The Book Fair is Coming!The spring book fair is on its way! Book fair preview will be on Friday, March 12 and the library will be open from 4pm- 6:30pm, right before Hartwood Movie Night! The book fair will run from March 12 until March 22. Parent VolunteersWe welcome parents to volunteer in our classrooms. There are many ways you can help: Read to a child, cut out supplies, filing papers, putting up bulletin boards, assisting with crafts or classroom activities, montioring learning centers and more. Your child's teacher will let you know when help is needed.
![]() SnackYour child will have about 10 minutes each day to eat a healthy snack. Please be sure to send in a healthy snacks that are easy to open. Snacks should be limited to one healthy food item and a drink. Milk and orange juice will also be available to purchase. Some snack ideas are cheesesticks, goldfish, fresh fruit (cut into pieces if your child has loose teeth), yogurt, pretzels, cereal. We do ask that you do not send in glass and try to limit items with peanuts due to food allergies.
